How did Rembrandt van Rijn go about his work? A team of four experts reconstructs the works of the greatest Dutch artists in Het Geheim van de Meester (Masterpiece). They try to do things exactly as the master did them, to get as close as possible to their technique, style and perception as well as the zeitgeist.

Working in a modern master studio, the team of experts uses advanced techniques to bring The Night Watch and other masterpieces to life. Painter/researcher Lisa Wiersma must master the style and technique of a variety of painters. She is assisted by restorer Michel van de Laar, materials expert Prof. Dr. Joris Dik and science historian Dr. Thijs Hagendijk.
